Pulau Aman in Penang

What could beat a trip to Pulau Aman for the seafood. And what would Penang be without SEAFOOD???

Pulau Aman is a Malay village famous for fresh mantis prawn. The place can be reached from Bukit Tambun. After exiting from the Bukit Tambun toll, all to do is to follow the signboard to Pulau Aman jetty. Boat ride costs RM 6 per head for both ways.

Not much can be seen there, just small island for rest and relax.

The best attraction there would be the food. Beside famous for the mantis prawn, they also serve "mee udang" or prawn noodles. Look at the size of the prawn!

Overall, not bad a trip.

This is the jetty where boats are available to go to Pulau Aman:

Penang Wire Art and Mural

Went to take photographs of wire art and murals around Georgetown. Equipped with just a map and cap, the walking journey took about three hours. Quite a fun experience.

We started the journey from Armenian Street. Cars were parked there. There are several mural paintings there, including the "Boy on Bicycle" and "Old Man".

The walk continues by walking south to Armenian Street. There are a mural painting and several wire arts.

After that, we walked towards Penang Road via Kimberly Street. Had some Penang Laksa and Famous Teo Chew Chendul. By the way, the "Waiting Old Man" mural is also located at Penang Road.

Next, we head towards King Street for several wire arts.

And finally, we head back to Armenian Street for the "Boy on Motorcycle" and the "Dinosaur"

Before ending the trip, we had a visit to Chew Jetty where the last mural of the day was located. Enjoyed the nice scenery there.

Incredibly Complex Machine

Yeah, x86 is the most complex machine human invented! The Intel Architecture, a Complex Instruction Set Computer (CISC) is the top architecture in the world. Not only Intel Architecture been used in computer and server, it is slowly moving to the embedded world, including phones and tablets.

The infamous x86, or also known as IA32, can support 16 bits, 32 bits, and 64 bits operation! Not only that, the protection mode including segmentation and paging, in other words, double layers of protection.

IA32 also features operation for string operations, floating point operation, and the single instruction multiple data (SIMD) instruction. More advance chips even can be used as virtual machines.

So much for this ICM.

My Final Year Project in UTM

Wheeled mobile robot is a machine that navigates from one point to another, using actuated wheels, either in mobile or steering manner. The differentially steered drive mobile robot is a robot with two separately actuated wheels. This type of mobile robot is classified under the nonholonomic mobile robot system because the total degree of freedom is more than controllable actuators. Mobile robot navigation can be divided into robot localization, planning and tracking. In this project, navigation was achieved using odometry navigation. The B├ęzier curve was used for the trajectory planning because the initial and final heading of the mobile robot can be easily determined. A nonlinear control law was used for the mobile robot trajectory tracking. The project was implemented in the Robot Operating System robot framework, pioneered by Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. The final outcome of this project is production of a usable navigation module for this class of nonholonomic mobile robot and can be used to program the robot for the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union Robot Contest.
