Reasons to Blog

Blog is not a wrong spelling for log. Its an online journal or diary. So for this exclusive 100th post, I would like to post about the reasons I blog.

For my journal. What ever I done, I go, either I sleep or go to the toilet, I will try to write it down.

For my place to voice out my emotional stuff.

For my works, either digital or photography. But nowadays, I think it was more to photography.

For information, through my tutorials. I spread the information for the benefits of others. I like people to know.

For money making through Nuffnang Advertising. Some people sell stuff through their blog but they must need a lot of hits for that.

Its kind of a multipurpose blog. LoL.

Enough of crap, here are some pictures with Chinese lantern for the festival.

I am just one person

I am just one person
I try to bare the environment to be aware
I try not to be wasteful
I try to do the right thing
But I am just one person.

Somehow I was pissed off when someone said this thing is a crazy stuff to do. Why need to turn off the light, and why one hour only. This can't make any difference. And the more pissed I am when people was mocking this idea.

Why do people even care, why do I even care. I am just one person, I cannot make any difference by turning off lights for one hour. How much only can I save? Even worse was, what is there are burglary?

Too many questions, too many vague, too many hesitations.

Why I have to think of global warming? Why I have to think about the environment? Why can't I just concentrate on my studies? Why can't I just concentrate on being with the one I have?

Self-centered, selfish, Greed.

I am just one person. Just how much can I do? I am just one person. Why do I even care?. I am just one person.

Devil's Place by Brian Gomez

This is what a nerd would do. Making a review for a book he read. The books was as the post title says.

Its a book about terrorist, politics, prostitution and such happening in Kuala Lumpur. A story about crime investigation. Not much of an investigation, its much of a story about a person who was suspected of killing his friends but was actually done by Malaysia's Number One Wanted.

It was an interesting book, nicely plotted. Very creative indeed but seems too fictional. Too much coincidences. I can say the writer is a genius. Could be as good as J.K. Rowling. But J.K. Rowling plotted the whole thing for seven books. This story was nicely plotted in one book only.

This is the first book the writer ever published, and probably the last, we don't know about the future right.

If you are a Malaysian, I highly recommend this book to you because the content of the story is highly related to what happening in Malaysia just that its only fictional.

Don't worry about the grammar or vocabulary though, a stupid person like me could finish it in one day. Really a good novel only it burnt my father wallet of RM 34.90 from MPH bookstore.

By the way, his blog thefloatingturd is available at the Public Blog at your right.

Salty Hands and News

Wow, two things of what I mention yesterday got something to do with the news today. I really have salty mouth, or actually salty hands.

Largest moon in 2009, has somehow caused a flood in Kuching from the front page of The Star Monday, January 12, 2009. 'Sarawak floods expected to get worse' ... which coincides with the "king tide" phenomenon, forcing river to levels to peak. ...

And on the third page 'Nationwide SOS sent out as blood supply runs low' ...shortage of blood supply nationwide caused to Health Ministry to raise the red flag for more donation. ...

I do wanna help out but there was no time for me. From this week on, I will have class until 5.00 pm everyday. Its kind of tiring. When I get back, I don't have to mood to do my exercise anymore. I am scare of hypertension you know. I don't want my blood pressure test during the blood donation runs high.

Like today, I went to campus at 6.45 am and reach only by 7.45 am. One hour in the bus. After a breakfast, straight away to class until 10 am. Back to college to sort out my UPU certificates photocopy before going back to campus for laboratory at 2 pm. Lost the track of time so skipped lunch. And after the lab, it took half an hour from campus to travel back, and I slept from 5.45 pm to 9.15 pm.

I don't know even I can coup with this living. I was used to no class in the afternoon. Not everyday. What must I do? This is the type of living I must face during my work era.

This is a picture taken on one fine evening Tuesday, January 6th, 2009. How often can you have this kind of view. Sorry I cannot bring the magnificent of the scenery in photo here.

And yet another Sunday

I woke up quite late today, 2.00 pm. Perhaps Sunday is the only day for me to sleep late for this week. As an abnormal person, I need 10 hours sleep in one day and I don't get enough sleep throughout the week.

People will spend Sunday out on the streets where the Youth event and The Stars Education Fair are going on. And today suppose to be the finals for Malaysia Open Super Series. Its badminton for those who don't know. I don't know what it is at first. I am not a sports person.

I spend the day blog hopping, finding something interesting to read, learning about things. Skipped my lunch and breakfast, (well I don't usually have breakfast on Sunday or Saturday). And to find myself now full with three meals in my stomach for dinner.

Yesterday too was something special happened. They claim that the full moon was the biggest. I don't know how true it is but it seems a bit bigger. I don't know because I don't stare at the moon too frequently. I did snap a few photos but it turned out lousy.

I realize that my blood donation book was dated July 30th, 2008. I should have get my blood sucked out on October 30th though. And it was over two months due. Should I keep the frequent donation so I can get 100 pint by the age of 50 and be claimed as a kind person. Or don't care about it.

And yet, life will goes on tomorrow (I mean today) where people call it Monday Morning Blues. Class at 8am and not more until 2pm. What a waste. I think I will come back to my college and promote the Earth Hour event around. Hey, I am a nature person but I do waste a lot of electricity.

Behold the video clip for Earth Hour.

I hope to see Kuala Lumpur to turn off their lights for the event. It is truly a meaningful initiative for our planet.

Shutter Asia Photography

I went to this competition of Photography organized by Shutter Asia something.

Competing with my Nikon digital camera, I can say I am in a disadvantage here.

All the competitors used DSLR and some super 'canggih' and 'ganas' camera.

It was a knock out competition, so it depends on luck too. I did manage to get into the 3rd match before I was knocked out.

But all and all it went well.

The first round's theme was RED. We need to submit five photos and compete with out partner which we don't even know who.

RED 01

RED 02

RED 03

RED 04

RED 05

Well, I win in the first match.

Second match's theme is ACTION. Here we go.

Then here comes Match 3 where I was knocked out. Theme is TASTE.

To tell the truth, I am anxious at the beginning because were able to make it to the 3rd match. But lastly, I'm a bit disappointed. I felt sorry too to those whom I beat because maybe they get the change to advance from 3rd match. All and all, it as good for experience and leisure. Cannot expect to win in competition. Its a form of Samudaya.

Next post will be about Youth 09 where this competition was held.

This series are fiction story on magic consist of three books. First is Sabriel, second Lirael followed by Abhorsen.
Those Harry Potter fans will find this series pleasing to read too.
The story are more straight forward too, making it easy to read.
Did I mention this book is put under Children and Teen Reader category.
This story is about a lady Sabriel fighting the Dead and rescue his father Abhorsen.
In the second book, the main characters are Lirael and Sabriel's son Sameth.
The book was interesting and easy to read, I can finish Lirael in just two days.
